Our Story

Berwick Hospital Center, located in Berwick, Pennsylvania, has been a cornerstone of the community’s healthcare services for decades. Originally established as a general acute care hospital, it provided a range of medical services, including emergency care, inpatient treatments, outpatient services, and surgical procedures.

In 2022, the hospital underwent a significant transition, shifting from an acute and ambulatory care facility to a standalone psychiatric unit. This change came with a reduction in bed capacity to 14 beds, refocusing its services exclusively on mental health care. The transition was part of a broader restructuring effort to meet the region’s growing need for behavioral health services, addressing conditions such as depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric disorders.

Today, Berwick Hospital Center continues to serve as a vital healthcare provider, with a focus on mental health treatment. The facility remains committed to supporting the local community, offering compassionate care and working collaboratively with mental health organizations and resources in the region.

Berwick, PA (March 21, 2025) – Berwick Hospital Center announces a transition to new ownership under Apesa Solutions, LLC, a corporation based in Sheridan, Wyoming. The transition was effective on March 1, 2025.

The transition marks a new chapter for the hospital, promising enhanced services, expanded capabilities, and a continued commitment to serving the needs of the Berwick community.
